|
 |
Quote: | In the sequel, Starkiller returns with over-the-top Force powers and embarks on a journey to discover his own identity and to reunite with his one true love, Juno Eclipse. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Starkiller is once again the pawn of Darth Vader-but instead of training his protégé as a ruthless assassin, the Dark Lord is attempting to clone his former apprentice in an attempt to create the Ultimate Sith warrior. The chase is on - Starkiller is in pursuit of Juno and Darth Vader is hunting for Starkiller.
With all-new devastating Force powers and the ability to dual-wield lightsabers, Starkiller cuts a swath through deadly new enemies across exciting worlds from the Star Wars films - all in his desperate search for answers to his past. Along with using the power of the force to puzzle-solve by creating paths where there once were none, players can also look forward to a new explosive abilities. A few of these are Force Fury, a temporary ratcheting up of standard Force powers far beyond normal levels, and the Jedi Mind Trick that can make enemies either act as allies in combat, or cause them to take their own lives. |

The demo is identical to the first game. Nothing really new to <3 there.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

It seems to move faster, gameplay wise and from a performance point of view. Don't know if that's good or bad. Yet.
Given that they've canceled the 3rd part, I'm keeping my expectations low on this one.

Why? I know he's the reason the 3rd part got canned, but honestly TFU1 turned out to be a mediocre title and I have my doubts that TFU2 will be much better. Maybe more polished, but that's about it.
Give me JK series with TFU tech and I'll buy that shit in a heart beat.

The first thing he does when he moves in is to cancel a bunch of ONGOING projects and then sack half the company? Bravo *golf clap* I actually rather enjoyed TFU. It gave what it promised and provided a great many hours of force indulgence, along with a Lucas-approved canon story. The game had more of a focus on pure destructive force powers than LS combat .. and for that reason alone the fans of Dark Forces saga panned it mercilessly. IMO that was unfair. It was a completely different developer, different direction, different playing style and - unlike trash such as Gothic 4 or Medal of Honour - WASN'T billed as a successor or "spiritual" sequel to Dark Forces.

If you're impressed by FU2 demo then you should - it's exactly the same.

the dismemberment is fake. i mean it doesn't depend on how you attack teh enemies - they just fall apart w/o blood and gore which is another fail

Makes sense, given the intense heat they output, that being slashed with a lightsaber would cauterise the wound.

It was the same way with Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast. They allowed you to edit an ini to make it so you could dismember enemies. I don't think it worked on the bosses however. But it's true the lightsaber cuts through cauterizing the wound immediately so there isn't any blood. Lucas actually changed his stance on this from Walrus Man in Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina to Empire Strikes Back when Luke lost his hand. Saying this is a fail is presumptuous indeed. This game is going to rock, plain and simple! I must admit I am really looking forward to it. But it's actually behind Vanquish and Black Ops for me. I will pick this up in late November or December.

It will rock only if it's dark and has appropriate locations and enemies. Funny possessed scrap metal things and giant mushroom levels killed the previous game for me. I hope Vader force-strangled those who designed 'em and those who signed them into the game too.
