Twilight hack is more a pain in the ass. Better got to 4.2 to be safe with games that might require that version. Pretty sure theres a hack for 4.3

Even easier is the BannerBomb exploit on 4.1/4.2, no game needed just certain files and an SD card =)

As for 4.3? There's no need for it. All 4.3 did was bring in more anti-piracy stuff from Nintendo.

Ahh, looking at things I only have the games needed for the Twilight hack. The SmashStack hack needs the US version of Smash Bro's and I don't have the Lego games needed for the other exploits.
How does the Bannerbomb exploit work? It looks like its far less reliable so I'm dubious about upgrading to 4.2 only to have it fail.

I did the banana bomb and it worked great. I think it's just a buffer overflow or something.
Not sure why you think it's not safe... but I bet you have your reasons.
Either way, thats the approach i'd take!

Wasnt worried about it being safe, the wiki page I was reading simply seemed to indicate it could fail (so updating to use it seemed silly when the Twlight hack seemed more reliable). Having read around a bit more it looks like the BannerBomb exploit is better than I initially thought.
The only issue now is how I get from 3.4e to 4.2e ? Any ideas?
-- edit --
I just asked around and it seems that updating through any other means than the officially over the internet is pretty unsafe.. If I keep using 3.4 will I be limited in what games I can load?

Can I not update using the homebrew loader to load the update then re-hack the firmware? If not then I can't see a safe way of getting to 4.1 from 3.4..
I have 3.4 hacked now, so I'll keep looking into it.

Ok i was wrong.
I would just go up to 4.1 and hack that.
Surely there is a game out ther which was released containing the 4.1 hack on the disk?
