He's basically advertising the new game he's working on. That's it.

He has two points:

- Activision makes money by buying up indie devs that make innovative games and Activision should prove itself able to innovate by only rlsing the online part of their new game at a fair price (what that has to do with innovation i have no idea, but i assume it would just cut his revenue cause no-one would buy SP)

and

- Look at my new game with a photoshopped kotick in it. Weeee!

Aka attention whore vs evil business man. Boooringgg.

Halo was a major success that convinced devs that console FPS' can work. The game was universally received as pretty good too
Halo 2 was the beginning of console multiplayer and matchmaking, as it exists today
Halo 3 had the forge map editor

These might not mean a lot to PC gamers (lolz FPS, lolz multiplayer, lolz map editor), but yes I believe they make Bungie an innovative indie studio for consoles.

inb4 but GoldenEye 007 was first! Yes it was and the game received both critical praise and commercial success. But Halo made the FPS genre mainstream on consoles.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion of course Smile

@Weedo: That too Smile
It's not a matter of who did it first, but who gained mainstream success. Wink

I love the wars of the gaming industry!

EA Fires Back at Bobby Kotick: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/112/1123641p1.html

"Kotick's relationship with studio talent is well documented in litigation," Brown said, referring to Activision's latest lawsuit with developer Infinity Ward over the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise and previously with Double Fine over Brutal Legend.

"His company is based on three game franchises – one is a fantastic persistent world he had nothing to do with; one is in steep decline; and the third is in the process of being destroyed by Kotick's own hubris."

Actually EA isn't as bad as they used to be, this Activision guy is far far more of a douche retard and one can only hope universe does its duty in ending his miserable life. I honestly hope he dies in a fire.
