When I registered that codec it still said trial for me. Weird but it works. Try using the open source codec Xvid instead. It's pretty good.

Check doom9. They're the experts. LINK -> www.doom9.org. I would use the standard 2 cd xvid scene encoding. Just check the nfo of a popular non nuked 2cd xvid movie.

games? I'd recommend 640x480 resolution, as much bitrate as you can spare (1000+ is optimal, but anything 500 and up should give you decent results), preferably xvid or divx for video and mp3 @ 64kbps for sound.

divx 3.11 is a good codec as well

Not for encoding. It sucks compared to VMW 9, DivX and XviD.

well very true i guess, im using koepi's new xvid build and its the shit compared to other codecs
