Just got my new pc today, so installed windows and stuff and eventually decided to try out some game. Nothing to play right now so even though I don't like rts, decided to try out sc2. One mission later the game crashes. Restart, and it crashes again, this time with artifacts. Restart, enter bios, and what do I see? Artifacts all over the place, then just horizontal lines and shit. That's the last time my 3 hours old video card worked
I blame starcraft 2

I doubt that's what happened...I mean, the PC is brand new, the air circulation is very good. I hardly been in the menus at all, entered the fist mission, finished it and it crashed in the bar after the first mission. Anyway, it sucks monkey balls because now it will take a while until I get a new card since the shop will send it to the importer's labs and it always takes weeks.

Actually when it still worked there were less artifacts but the game froze. After the reboot, the card stopped working correctly altogether and couldn't even display bios properly. Anyway, I find it hard to believe modern cards just plain fry and die...I would expect them just to shutdown when overheated...unless Sapphire failed miserably on this card.

Sounds like bad ram.
Try it with just one stick installed at a time.

Use the fix I've seen posted in the SC2 thread to solve the issue with Starcraft II frying GPU's.
