So i have had some trouble with booting, and when i first power it up my screen goes "dvi no scource" and the screen goes black. The restart button wont work to reset it so i have to hold the pwr button untill it shuts down and then i might get it to work.
Could this be the gpu, or maybe the mobo failing?
Ive reconnected every single cable and vacumed ports for dust, but didnt help. Any advice? Sad

"vacumed ports for dust"
question : are you mental ? if you fucked up the board with static electricity then say bye bye to the board

what can you check : check the cable then check PSU if the fan is turning , check every ram stick in every port, then check gpu in another mombo, see if any transistors have a lump... thats all

Let me rephrase that one. I disconnected my grp and blew the dust away from the socket and the card itself. No electricity included there hfric Razz
Ill see what i can do about it. Check every device for some flaws.
But it could be the psu that causes the gpu to be late... Sad

If it works sometimes, after powering off and retrying, sounds like a psu problem.

You got to test.

Same thing happened to me the last year a couple of times... don't know why. Mostly i got it repaired by disconnecting the powersupply from the motherboard. Leave it of for at least 10 seconds and reconnect after that.

Like mentioned above eject all memory modules and blow away any dust.

If that doesnt work its either your power supply , motherboard or processor

Empty again Sad

I got myself to test the mem sticks one by one tonight since im leaving tomorrow. Ive tried memchecks with no result. And after some fiddelign with the ram one by one in every slot i managed to blow the fuse to my room, dosnt sound too good does it? Laughing
Its an old comp but its still what ive got to play with nowdays except the crappy laptop ive got...
The strangest things is that it works perfectly every time i turn the psu on and wait untill the "does nothing" booting shuts the comp down and then im able to start it normally and no artifacts no nothing. Everything works smooth.
The strangest problem Sad
Guess if i dont find a solution after trying another psu i have to see myself a proud owner of a new comp in the near future.
