Starts slow, but get 30 mins to an hour in & it becomes one of my best games.
Loved it and managed to find all souls without the need of a guide Very Happy

i remember when i bought this game.. maybe 10 years ago?
my cousin gave it to me, original. i still remember that in the box there was a phrase "powered by Gas"... i don't know why but i always loved it!
anyway the game was great, i played it till the end.. maybe if i play it again i will find it a little bit "ugly" but for sure it will remember me many things.

so they released also shadowman 2?

Just started playing, and you couldn't be more right.

Twice in the past, i've given up due to crappy first areas. Now i'm at the asylum and having a blast.

Game even works with x360 gamepad lol wut

combat is crappy, but the setting and exploration make up for the flaws.

Very good game and the atmosphere was pretty amazing. I should really replay it sometimes in the future, I can't even remember how many years have passed since my last playthrough.

I am definitely hooked. So far i've unlocked 4 of those glyphs that allow you to open new levels. latest power I got was waterfall climbing.

I hope I manage to beat the game without looking up a guide. Had to backtrack once so far to grab dark souls, but otherwise, its been smooth sailing.

The exploration is just epic in this game. So Much Win

"completed" the game after 20hours of in game time, probably another 10 hours of replaying stuff that the save game doesn't register.

I use qotation marks because I had to watch the final cutscene on youtube

game has this bug where ocassiionaly, the save game would load you in a different location than then one you saved at, the location always being the talking serpent guy.

It was fine in earlier parts of the game, since I would just use the teddy bear to teleport back.

However this time I saved during the boss fight, after you lose the teddy bear, and when I made the tedious long walk back to the boss area, the door was locked

Other than the game breaking bug, fantastic game, I can't believe it never caught my interest in the past.

collected 112 out of 120 dark souls. didn't wanna back track anymore since I've been playing the game for 5 days straight.

The exploration, and the fact the game doesn't hold your hand at all made for an amazing experience. The locations were fantastic for the most part.

I wish I knew more games like this one. Focused

https://www.ign.com/articles/n64-favorite-shadow-man-remaster-announced-for-pc-ps4-xbox-one-and-nintendo-switch

Quote:

Shadow Man, the fan-favorite action-adventure game originally developed by Acclaim and released for N64 (and later PC, PlayStation, and Dreamcast), will be remastered and re-released sometime next year for PC (via Steam and GOG), PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The remaster will feature 4K resolution; improved shadow mapping, per-pixel lighting, and anti-aliasing; and the restoration of content that was cut from the original game, among other enhancements. “Our goal with the remaster is to give today’s generation of gamers all the features that they expect from a modern title while preserving the qualities that made Valiant’s iconic character and the original Shadow Man game such memorable classics to begin with,” said Stephen Kick, CEO at Nightdive Studios, the outfit handling the remaster

Nice!

EDIT: I think, it's been years! Very Happy

"For we are legion!"

*Dude proceeds to stab himself.*

Well not if you do that you aren't though I suppose plot would have explained it more had I remembered things better, it's been years! Razz

EDIT: And from Era it sounds like they are also undertaking Hybrid Heaven.

EDIT: and SIN? Emergence or well the first episode at least. Hmm.

(Nope it's related to both SIN and SIN Emergency I think I'm understanding it better now.)

What else are these people doing? Very Happy

The gritty atmosphere of the game, its unique music and some of the levels are still remarkable, the gameplay itself however hasn't aged particularly well in my opinion. Especially the frequent mundane shooting and the lack of free aiming in third-person view coupled with a copy-pasta-friendly level design that stretches itself out for too long, which are both guilty of ruining the mood. It's an adequate remustarding job though.

Many late 90s games have those issues with level design you mentioned. Turok 2 comes to mind, another game that was remastered recently.
