The 3rd place match is always the most pointless game! It's not like the olympics where winning means a medal (even though it's bronze) and losing means nothing at all. Here the 'prize' is just $2 million more than 4th place which is divided among the football league of the country and players and technical staff. Not expecting to see much.

Yes but becoming second is as pointless as well.
Doubt that either Germany or Uruguay want to lose that match though.
So it can still become a nice match to watch.

you forget the cash bonus for the players. 3rd place is usually better paid than 4th ^^
