I got a friend that needs me to replace his benq drive. not hacked and not going to be. is it the same as replacing a samsung? take it out, swap boards, put new drive in and done?
Well he talks about swapping the dvd drive boards.. that probably will work but you have to make sure its exactly the same drive model then you don't need to flash anything. I would extract the firmware first though just to be on the save side..
i figure swapping the boards would take care of key extraction and flashing, etc. i know that there are only 2 types of samsung drives but i dont know about benQ. guess i better get to reading. OR i should probably tell the guy i can't do it and blow him off. he is a little aggravating.
according to my friend teh google it looks like swapping the pcbs will do fine since there is no spoofing or any of that shit going on. i will probably regret doing it though cause this guy is pretty annoying
