Oddbox [2010]

News from October 2009 :
Quote:
Thanks to everyone who sent in the link to this interview, in which Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning revealed: “all four of the major Oddworld games will be re-releasing this winter in a package called “The Oddbox.” This will be the Abe games, Munch, and Stranger as one package for Steam’s digital distribution network, as well as a few other digital distribution outlets.” That means we’ll get to see Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath on PC. No work on pricing yet, nor an exact release date, but it’s schedule for this winter.

News from May 2010 :

According to Nate over at the Oddworld Forums, porting of the Oddworld games is almost complete with some added bonuses: Steam Achievements.

Via certain secret sources and with the assistance of a sect of devout, mute monks, I have managed to get some information about Oddbox from Lorne himself.

We have Munch near finished (in final gold now) and we're still working on Stranger. Stranger has proven much more difficult as we really pushed some rendering aspects on the Xbox and bringing that over to DirectX is a bit of voodoo. So it's taken far longer than expected to convert Stranger than we had initially anticipated. We're still aiming for 2010 but do not have a set month for release.

We are working diligently on getting this done and making sure its all quality conversions. 3 down. 1 to go. Must happen in 2010.

Oddysee and Exoddus had as much impact on me as Blade Runner and LSD. I can't wait for this pack I hope they bumped up the renders in Abe games. But that's unlikely.

Asus, B550, 3700X, 3060, 32GB.
