wouldn't be too difficult to overtake the psp in terms of power, considering its hardware is quite old by now. the other qustion is how future DS games will look...isn't the power increase just for coping with the higher resolution+3d?

I really hope, for Nintendo's sake, that those shots are from VERY VERY early into production .. because seriously, that's just plain FUGLY. Even the iPhone looks ten times better than that.

Sorry, I'm tired and just snagged the first screenie I could find (which incidentally came from IGN.. bleh) Either way, the iPhone version STILL looks better. Albeit with those horrible soft-keys onscreen.
Stole the show at E3, but no thread? I think it looks awesome... MS and Sony should be afraid, very afraid
afraid of what.... a tiny mini screen
fhunny
The thing will sell like a mofo champ. While those other clowns waste time on shitty wii clones in a futile attempt to attract cash, Nintendo will already be onto the next scam to take coin from the sheeple.
everyone who has seen the 3ds in action is stunned and amazed
only problem is that it has a very fixed view point so you can only see it at a certain angle QQ
but other than that it's actually real and actually awesome (i can't wait. Might be the only DS i'll buy unless it will come out with a 250$ price range or a suspected 300 )
DS is from Nintendo. Therefore it's worth the price. Especially since you can easily play free games on it (hopefully on the 3DS) The new games for the DS/3DS from first party will be stunning. Nintendo doesn't half ass things anymore.
That street fighter game most likely will look like SSTF3 or so with cell shaded bs but will play great. One thing you can give Nintendo is that their products = quality.
I can't wait for the onslaught of 3D games for the 3DS.
The only thing that makes this interresting to me is the Zelda remake.
If they are able to recreate the charm from the original it would be just awesome, and on that argument alone i think they will sell alot of them.
Exact specifications or expected performance of the DMP Pica 200 graphics processor are unknown, but the developer indicated that the chip includes a proprietary “graphics extension” named Maestro. Besides, DMP said that the GPU features support of complex shaders.
Founded in 2002, DMP, a graphics IP core supplier in Japan, has adopted a business strategy of focusing on the digital consumer market, according to Jon Peddie, the head of Jon Peddie Research market tracking company.
“DMP first told me about the Pica architecture in early 2005 which was their first IP core based on Ultray architecture. The president and CEO of DMP, Tatsuo Yamamoto, told me then the Ultray allows real-time photo realistic rendering with physically correct lighting and shadowing such as soft shadow casting and position dependent environmental mapping. Ultray is unique in that it uses hardware parametric engines for certain graphics features rather than shaders. With this approach, clouds, smoke, gas and other fuzzy objects can be shaded and rendered at an interactive rate,” explained Mr. Peddie.
seems weird. They say they have complex shaders, but rather not use them? *scratches head*
EDIT: also, they only have to render for a pretty small resolution so i guess, it could be awesome. But i have to see it for myself first. Am pretty hyped since the e3 though
