I would try to re-multiplex it into a new container file, maybe the mkv files is corrupt. It's easy and takes just a few seconds/minutes.
Go to http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ and download mkvtoolnix. Start "mkvmerge GUI". Drag and drop you movie file into the the app (or click "add" and select file). Specify output path and start the muxing.
EDIT: Maybe the video stream has a wrong framerate. mkvmergeGUI has an option to change that. Open the file, select the video stream (V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC) and click "format specific options". There is an option to specify the framerate. Try to set it to 24000/1001 (which is the proper way to write 23,976).

How do you re-multiplex it?
I tried the fps thing but it didn't help.

Drag and drop the MKV file into mmg.exe.
Select all the tracks you want in the new MKV (perhaps all of them for a similar MKV).
Now select the video stream, and in the specific for stream options, put the correct fps.
Now, in output, give it a new name and hit Start muxing.

24 is not the proper speed. Films usually use a 23.976 framerate, so your audio will lag eventually.
What splitter are you using? Make sure to use Haali MKV Splitter, not some bullshit codec pack.

Gretech Video also sounds fishy to me. Maybe it has problems with "recent" x264 developments like mbtree and weightp.
You should try to play the file with a recent version of Haali MKV Splitter and a recent version of ffdshow before assuming it's broken.

MBtree is only used for encoding, for a more optimal distribution of bandwidth.

True, my bad.
But weightp alone has proven to be enough to wreck decoders *cough* CoreAVC *cough*.

its fun being late to the party. the problem is likely the audio. if youre using the wrong setup, MA can fuck the playback as i recently found out.
if you have any other movies with dts ma and those have the same problem, then thats whats going wrong.
