Contagion is a realistic depiction of a deadly viral outbreak, so if you're expecting something like WWZ with a lot of suspense and action you'll be disappointed.
28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later are great. One of the few sequels that is superior to the original.

Definitely an interesting take on vampires and the post apocalyptic, I liked it.
Do yourself a favor and watch Dead Set: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1285482/ (it's only 5 episodes, basically an extended movie, very much worth it, imo )
