My laptop has a wide screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and I want to play "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - Developer's Cut" on that ratio, but I can't change the aspect ratio settings to 16:10 since that ratio is not on the list. This is weird, since most wide-screen PCs and laptops have an aspect ratio of 16:10.

Can anyone tell me how to change the aspect ratio settings to 16:10 (maybe by changing a config file or something)?

Thanks

I figured it out!

For the people that have the same problem:

Go open the Environment.cfg file in the installation folder and change "VID_PIXELASPECT=1.000000" to "VID_PIXELASPECT=1.200000". This will change the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:10.

How did I come up with this? I checked the config file before and looked at the VID_PIXELASPECT line at different aspect ratios by changing the aspect ratio in the game settings. Then I came up with this:

4:3 = "VID_PIXELASPECT=1.000000"
16:9 = "VID_PIXELASPECT=1.333333"

so these are the calculations:

16:9 aspect ratio: 1/((4/3)/(16/9))=1.333333
16:10 aspect ratio: 1/((4/3)/(16/10))=1.200000

So there you have it... Start the game, and enjoy Smile

Nice, If only I could do that on my desktop too. I can't get 16:9 or widescreen for my desktop when using tv-out.

Why not? can't you just change the aspect ratio in the game settings?
