Is there a favourite out there that people use or is it pretty much whatever?

Right on, is there a quick tutorial that'll outline what I need checked off option wise to burn Dual-Layer DVD's, or should I just run it stock?

just open the .dvd file so it sets the layer break. i think you also need to set the booktype, but on my burner it worked flawlessly with stock settings

What if the file is a .iso and not a .dvd? I've acquired FF13 and want to burn them, should i leave the settings stock, minus the layer break and booktype?

you need an .iso AND a .dvd file. of course you can also set the layer break manually (it's the only information that's contained in the .dvd file anyway), but it's faster and easier if you've got both

I think abgx360 creates a .dvd file for you if it is missing and you run the .iso through it.

Also imgburn here btw, also I always set the burning speed to 2.4x, don't know if it makes a difference if you use high quality verbatims, but better safe than sorry is what I say.

one thing regarding burn speed: from my personal experience, it doesn't really matter which speed you use with verbs. didn't have a single coaster yet when burning with max speed. for cheap media i'd rather use 2,4x though
