You need the Popcorn hour audio converter, takes a second or two to convert.
I use it on my Sammy.

btw Waldo, do NOT update the firmware, the MPAA went ballistic when they discovered Samsung had included .mkv at very high resolutions for the Samsung onboard Media Manager so Samsung removed the option in following firmware.
ps: you can also stream to your Samsung via the onboard dnla.

popcorn hour converter works great (I use it for WDTV), takes more than "seconds" though and in then end it sucks having to convert 80% of the mkvs you download :/
asus z170-A || core i5-6600K || geforce gtx 970 4gb || 16gb ddr4 ram || win10 || 1080p led samsung 27"

The firstgen WDTV doesn't decode DTS. I use Audioconverter. It demuxes, transcodes the DTS track and remuxes again. It uses external apps (included in the package) so the user just has to choose an input and an output file. Very fast and easy to use.

WDTV Live plays everyhing..ive juyst bought one..onlly thing that bugs is when playing VOB files you have to kepp selecting them individually , although im sure there will be a way to cue them up, and also keep flicking the language if English is not set to default. Only seen the language this on one DVD though to be fair.

Use makemkv. Takes the stream out of the vob structure and packs it up again using mkv. Should take a couple of minutes with a decent CPU.
