Generation Kill is based on the award-winning book by Evan Wright, who was embedded with First Recon and originally reported the story in a series of articles for Rolling Stones. The series also benefited greatly from the presence of two of the real-life Marines it depicts - Sgt. Eric Kocher and Cpl. Jeffrey Carisalez - who served as consultants. A third First Recon Marine, Sgt. Rudy Reyes, appears in the miniseries, portraying himself. |

Not bad , read the book when it came out. This seems as close to that as you could expect from film or tv so far.

Not bad but its a bit slow. I hope its going to be as good as Band of brothers for action and not some crap-o-fest like Jarhead

First, Band of Brothers started off extremely slow.
Second, Jarhead was a film about life in the marine corps. It was not meant to be an action flick.

Good season opener, though I'm a bit concerned for Alexander, not exactly as experienced or as talented as his father.
