Since I got ban on my Xbox 360 Premium I decided to sell it. So I want to play online games on new console. So there's a question: should I get PS3 or XBOX 360 for online gaming? I don't want x360 because of not having Wireless reciever and for buying a gold. Since I have one more HD I will buy Arcade for 179€.
For Ps3 i don't know yet but it's good. I know I will have to buy original games for both system, but which one will you suggest me for playing online games?

I guess he's looking for opinions and he means the wireless receiver and gold subscription is one of the cons of getting another 360.

Or he wanted to begin a good ol' console flamewar.
Personally I never got into 360 online gaming because the subscription fees just turned me off.
I mean what exactly are they charging for? O.o
Sony and Nintendo managed to do it for free so what's the deal?

Yes. Wink Because i can get Arcade version cheap, put my HDD on and buy Gold and Wirelsess reciever. But PS3 has all these things already. So I will spend the same cash if I buy X360 or PS3, just can't decide and was looking for your opinions. Rolling Eyes

dont think about which console, but which games. if you aren't interested in playing the major exclusives (online), you might as well toss a coin. or get a ps3, for the reasons you stated.

I've only played a couple of games online on the PS3 but to me it seems as if there are a lot less kiddies. Just my personal experience.

Thats a good thing about PS3, no more raging 12 years old with high pitch voices saying things worse than what you can hear on a hip hop CD.

PS3 is free to play online, bigger HDD, Wifi included, controller with battery you can recharge (Need to buy that on 360), PS3 doesnt seems to brake every 5 months (im still on my first PS3 but on my 6th 360). The only thing i hate about the PS3 is the god damn controller made for Japanese midgets. After 2 hours of play, that fuckin controller gives me cramps.

Overall, its all about personal choice and needs.

Only problem with the rechargeability of the PS3 pad is you can't change the batteries. So once the batteries die completely you gotta get yourself a new pad :/

Get Both. Problem solved. I am more biased to the 360, but im not here, and don't care to convince you one way or another; Its a waste of time. No one mature cares what you buy, just go with your gut.

I bought both. Both are great.

only correct answer and even then you should still consider PS3 because its exclusives list is just getting bigger and better whereas 360 is limping along because of PC.

Two month ago, I would have said 360 all the way.
But first I got banned and then, there was Heavy Rain... and then quiteness Smile
A friend of mine lent me its fat PS3 as he had no game on it.

While waiting for Heavy Rain I played 2 fantastic games : Uncharted 1 and 2, especially the second. Those are ps3 exclusives. You wont get them on 360 as Heavy Rain. Like you wont have Alan Wake on the PS3 . But I've seen on a magazine, that there's more exclusive games coming on PS3 than xbox.

About the hardware, PS3 is so quite compared to 360. I no longer startup my 360.
It has built in bluray and wifi. You have no external psu on the ps3, you just need one cable, like the one on your PC.

The XMB is more "mature" on the PS3. I dont like the one on the 360 and its faster.

About the PSN : I played a lot of Fifa 10 games and I ve seen no difference with the xbox live. Its even better as I never had any disconnection and its free Smile

If you have mkv movies, then there's PS3Media server : http://ps3mediaserver.blogspot.com/

I've seen nothing good on the 360 apart from reencoding the whole mkv. However its been a while I've done something, so theres maybe a new prog out there.

I had really good times on 360, games were....indeed free Wink but I don't mind buying games especially when they are good, like Heavy Rain Wink Plus I really appreciate the inexistent noise of the bluray / internal fan.

If you live in Europe and games are expensive in your country, you can buy them in England. I did for Heavy Rain and I paid it 30 euros less !!!

Guess what Wink, I'm buying a slim in one or two month when I'll give back my friend's ps3.

Ok, looks like I decided what to buy, since I finally sold my old XBox 360. And yes, I will be buying PS3. Smile I don't know which one, but probably the cheaper, I don't mind how big HD it has, Slim or "Fat" version, it doesn't matter for me. Smile Looks like PS3 is better for me.

To be honest mate, you really REALLY are better off getting a 60 or 80GB PS3. 60 is preferential due to the hardware-based PS2 support, whereas 80 only has software emulation. If you're not interested in PS2 compatibility, then you should still look for any kind of fat PS3, since that's the model the hack is being worked on right now - and it still has OtherOS support (Linux installation)

at this point i think even Wii has more exclusives out than 360 and quality wise the ps3 has 360 beat hands down.

think about how many "360 exclusives" you've already played without even owning the console to begin with.

for a better look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_exclusive_to_a_seventh_generation_console#Microsoft_Xbox_360

if they don't show up in order just click the exclusives tab and aside from a few hardhitters like forza 3, gears 2, halo 3 and probably upcoming alan wake the rest of the list looks pitifully pale compared to its list of multiplatform games.

even something like dead rising 2 and the GTA4 episodes etc. will soon hit PC/PS3... the 360 is dead to me when it comes to producing actual games it can call its own.
