I was wondering, are i7 the only processors that support DDR3 triple channel mode? Does AMD support triple channel mode, and if not, does anyone knows when they will?

Yeah only i7, not sure how it's looking for the future. Think the next line of cpu's have the code name "bulldozer". Tried to do a check on wiki but didn't find anything.

Supposedly future 6 core AMD CPUs will support triple channel controllers.

I tried looking everywhere but I found nothing 'sound' :\
