Divinity 2: Flames of Vengeance will provide about 30 quests around 15 hours gameplay. Larian Studios and dtp entertainment will publish the expansion expected in August 2010.

The developers promise:
- 15 hours of gameplay
- many optional quests
- mindreading is more important and is needed to complete at least some quests
- interesting non-combat oriented quests (e.g. in one quest you're supposed to give a theatrical performance)
- better interface
- better AI
- better graphics (DirectX 11 support)
- you will be able to export your character from the original Divinity 2 or start a new one
- skill trees will be expanded

Swen Vincke, Creative Director & CEO Larian Studios:

Aleroth, once a war-torn city, now holds the next challenges for computer role playing gamers. Rivellon, the world of Divinity II: Ego Draconis, is still not safe. In Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance players must face the evil once more.

Soon gamers will recognize that many of the characters they met in the main game aren’t who they pretended to be. Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance continues where Divinity II: Ego Draconis left off.

"In Flames of Vengeance, the player picks up the story of the Dragon knight and guides him to his ultimate destiny. Along the way several accounts are settled, and the answers to many questions in the Divinity universe revealed. We've also taken the opportunity to give the engine a solid overhaul, improving performance and graphics quality along the way", Swen Vincke, Creative Director and CEO of the development team Larian Studios, explains.

Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance, the official add on to Divinity II: Draconis, offers more than 30 quests and about 15 hours of gameplay

Hope they replaced the super-funny-questwriter. Having Stan and Ollie npc´s and mixing bible book Jona with Moby Dick is just below the line for a fantasy rpg.

As a light addendum or what it's called the expansion will hit first (August maybe, unsure if it's stand-alone.) and then the compilation in October with the original Divinity 2 game, I misread it a bit.

Also that last image really showcases the improved engine in detailing on the armor model and such. Smile
(Can't say much about balance and gameplay or other bugs for HUD and similar based on just that however but it looks solid so far.)

I just couldn't get past the lame animations and the overall lack of polish of the game. I'm sure it's a sweet game once you're able to get past that, but i just can't. It's not about the graphics, don't get me wrong, it's the feel of the game that lets me down in the first few minutes.

Did you try the game once the full enhancement patch was released? It really did change the visuals quite a lot, especially animation.

I tried, but some textures were too ugly.. just some up resize and imba contrast.
Some were good, some were just bad for me.

Nice. So the remastered edition will improve the original D2 game to support DX11 (and other things)??

If I remember correctly it was the one with reading minds, yeah? There was nothing that attracted me to it at the start. You just leeave the ship, immediatly learn how to use weapons/magic and are taught how to read minds(which essentialy was just another conversation option and that's all), yaay! The combat felt very bad too, I didn't even leave the starting village, so maybe it'd pick up later, cba to check tho.

The tutorial shows much of how the game is though but at a basic level and it doesn't cover some later aspects of the game of course. Smile

Installing this one at the moment (Unpacking to be more precise.) will be interesting to see how it is, I guess it'll require the original game as well since it's still Divinity2.exe but at 1.4.3.x version number.
(Probably small enhancements here and there to the original title like a fleshed out Aleroth based on the latest couple of videos.)

EDIT: Damn it, just like with the first game initially, forgot about that stuff, will need to redownload the clone as well unless 0x00007 was thorough and I kinda doubt that, I'll know soon enough though.

(From the readme.)
Quote:

andere.

* Do not play with a nodvd crack or an illegal version of the game.
The game contains hidden security in the gameplay significantly to
change your detriment, if the use of a crack is discovered. An example of
such a change would be that you can not jump, but there are still many
others.

EDIT: Confirmed, needs the original game.
(Installer is localized by the way, via a INI file and just for the installer.)

EDIT: Inno Setup Installer, easy to unpack, will have access to the files this way a bit earlier.

EDIT: Outro and Intro is still _German.avi but the rest might be localized, easier now since it builds upon 1.3 and language.xml in the game folder to set localization from default German to whatever else might be supported if the files exist for it.
(EDIT: It actually includes all video files from the original so scratch that, however there's a EXP_Intro_German.avi file but the outro doesn't have any localization for it and might be voiceless.)

EDIT: Bundles all updates and it seems like mostly 1.4 patch with some extras in regards to what files exist and such, mainly via Patch.dv2 and Patch_2.dv2 for the older updates and now 1.4 (Plus the texture patch.) but there's only three new world areas in Pakced\World though much larger than the others.
(Broken Valley size would perhaps work as a guess.)

EDIT: Manual clarifies a bit, can start with the expansion directly as well at level 35 and some decent equipment and gold.

EDIT: All set up then, let's see if it's possible to jump. Smile

EDIT: There's no localized data aside from German (As expected.) so dialogue lines will be blank but can be clicked trough without getting the game to hang, nice intro however, haha, and the place looks more or less the same though touched up a bit.

(Intro kinda feels like a mix between Terminator and Gothic.)

I heard so my bad about the first one when it was first released. I had so much else to play at the moment that I didn't bother. But I get kind of interested again, is it worth playing? I like rpgs and even played thru the (what many thought was) horrible Two Worlds and enjoyed it. Could Divinity 2 be for me? Smile
