IF
The Book of Eli = Fallout movie
then now its time for....
Code: | Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan. |

Still cannot get over the decision to cast a freakin' South Korean pop star named "Rain" to play a bad ass Ninja. I don't get why the Wachowski Brothers have such a stiffy for this guy.

yeah well, just because you cast a jap, doesnt mean he'll do a better job, no matter how much more 'authentic' it may be.
also its being made for americans, and most of them couldnt tell a jap from a chinese from a korean from an indian, so authenticity is TOTALLY redundant.
to be honest, i didnt hate the guy in speedracer, WHICH I LOVED yeah u fucking heard me, it was one of the freshest and most unique and best made movies ive seen in a long time, and made me forgive them for matrix revolutions... ok yeah the kid and the monkey could fuck right of, but whatever... it was a load of fun, and the final race was one of the best 'climactic' points ive seen in a movie for a long time.
all this aside, i think the movie looks like fun... i like the stylised action that theyre going for... which is good.. i think if youre going to do fight sequences, either make them real'ish, or go full on artistic... what you DONT do is go half way, like they did in the 2nd and 3rd matrix films... the stylised fights in this could work quite nicely, as long as they arent 80% slo-mo... is it just me, or do slo-motion in fights, just fucking KILL the excitement and coolness level??... either way, its not on my must-see list, but some of the fights looked interesting enough for me to at least be curious to see it.

what a dumb title, reminds me of the 'The Black Ninja' probably the worst movie I ever saw and I watched it when I was a kid and was very easily impressed.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366242/ I think it's this one, they probably lied about the year it was released, I don't see any other black ninja's out there.

After reading the user review of the Black Ninja:
Scenario: My friend and I need a good film to laugh at and nothing makes you laugh harder than a cheesy title like the black ninja, with an over glorified blackguy in a ninja outfit on the cover.
Enter the movie: We pop this DVD in and imeadeatly cringe and behold our ears crying from the horrendus theme song sang by the star of the film (that crazy jamacian kid from the late Cosby show). Already we know that this going to be a laughable farce, but low and behold it is the worst film we have ever seen and that admission speaks volumes(I own Sniper 2 and Rollerball (the new one)) By the end of the film me and my compatriot where rolling on our sides because we had just laughed so much. The worst part the actors were trying to be serious. This is the worst film ever made. And should be revelled in that fact. Every one needs to see this film and feel better that they could make something better.
I am now downloading it, sounds hilarious didn't found it funny when I was a kid, probably because we all wanted to be ninja's and this ninja sucked.

to summarize
movie is dumb. really dumb. super dumb. fun action, and some sweet choreography, but the ending will have you double slapping your face at what a major stupid fucking cop-out it all was. the ending seriously sucked and was such a major letdown. fucking sweet fight roughly half way through though.
wonder if an 'unrated' version is planned? can never have too much blood or bits getting cut off in a ninja movie, u know

5/10... CGI splatter doesn't rock my boat. Didn't catch the spirit of the 80'ies ninja movies with Sho Kosugi either. Just 'meh'. :/
