Is MS still corrupting xbox 360s when they connect to live if they are banned? I am trying to just connect my 360 to my router to be able to stream videos through my pc to 360 in Windows Media Center on the 360 but am scared it would get corrupted via the Internet when it tries to get connected to live.

Are you sure that will work? I mean it could be very easy for MS to block all LIVE content and still have the box communicate with the LIVE servers.

Not sure. I'm thinking about this issue myself and am planning to either simply block either live ports using my router or block all internet access for my xbox. Depends on the router if you can do that or not, but blocking the live ports should be possible with most decent routers.
Xbox Live uses the following Ports
• UDP 88
• UDP 3074
• TCP 3074
That's what I've read somewhere. Of course I'm not sure if blocking those 3 will fully prevent the xbox from calling home...

I think you was banned few months ago. Turning off your 360 at the ban wave will not help you later in time. As you are being flagged.

Mine got banned like 2 weeks ago. I didnt even play any new games on it. Played a few times in 2010, Not over live just got updates. I stopped playing on live when the ban wave started. but did get the new updates while the ban wave was going on and nothing happened. but 2 weeks ago BOOM!
BTW i have 2 xboxes and i only used this xbox to go online and play madden. that xbox probly only had 3-4 games ever played on it. well it lasted atleast 4 years with it. so sad M$ lost my $50 yearly donation.
time to open that puppy up and mod the hell out of it. WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Hahaha, suddenly I feel so 1337 for buying a nooby USB stick for video storage. I knew Microsoft would screw me in the ass if I would stream video on the home network. Still sucks you got banned, though.
