I've got my shared drive setup on my 360 so I can use it as a media center and stream videos/music from my PC.

What's driving me nuts is that the damn thing never wants to refresh the folders to show newly added media. I will add new media and the 360 will take days or weeks to finally decide to update the files in my shared folders. I have my original xbox hooked up with XBMC and it picks up new files almost instantly.

Does anyone know how I can force a refresh on the 360 for my shared folders? It clearly doesn't refresh the folders on start up and I cannot find an option to refresh so M$ is sticking it to me on this one.

I think the problem is your pc ... isn't it Windows Media Centre's library that the xbox 360 reads? You probably need to get that refreshed more often.

i use that ps2 server program to stream to my 360, works great Smile

No, windows media centre is optional and it will work with PC's that don't have the software so that can't be it.

I just got some PS3 server program and it is working great!
Has some issues with the higher quality videos but I'll take it.
