I'd never even heard of this (great) series until I read Surrays post on the PS3 one (which is the third in the series) and hell I haven't returned that rental for months now I thought that was a great title so I look forward to getting my hands on this as I do think it suits a pick up and play handheld more than a console.
The first Disgaea game was excellently ported to the PSP, and part two continues the tradition of excellence. It's great to be able to take these fantastic strategy games on the go, and the bonus story chapters provide nice incentive to return if you haven't played Disgaea 2 since it was released on the PS2 three years ago. In a time when many games feel a bit watered down in order to appeal to a wide market, it's refreshing to play an unabashedly hardcore and complex game like this. Hands down, this is one of the deepest and most fun strategy games you'll ever play.
It's one of those bullshit levels where there are those runes that give x6 to all opponents etc, and they are on the other side of the stage than where I start. Goddammit
I'm stuck in a difficult level in the first game :-(

in stages like that you usually just have to throw your characters around a lot.
stack them up and you can throw through the whole level.
get a good thrower out first and move him directly next to the base panel, then get out your best character (he's gonna take out the geo blocks).
pick up the good character with your first thrower, and then get out another character and pick up your first guy who's holding your fighter. keep doing that until you got enough characters to do a throw chain throughout the level to where the panels are.
Disgaea Super Trick! You can also throw diagonally by quickly switching between 2 directions and pressing the throw button while the throw indicator is moving between them.
And yeah, disgaea 2 is great and the first one worked really well on the psp so this should be great too. It also has some bonus features from Disgaea 3 that weren't originally in 2 like level spheres in the item world and some new characters as well.
When I'm done with disgaea 3 (still playing it after 1 year and a few hundred hours of gameplay :P) I'll probably start this again :-)
Game finally went up on European PSN (for those of us who don't have the homebrew option anyway). £24 though, so more expensive than the original (which I got for £11 but that could be after reduction I don't know).
