I have now discovered the common denominator of all my problems concerning certain movies: They were all released by Mediamaniacs.

PowerDVD just shuts down, mediaplayer hangs itself, I simply cannot watch their releases Sad

But can anyone tell me why? What´s different about their releases???

BTW, they are all XViD movies (Peter Pan, Hatley High and now Love Sex And Eating The Bones)

Remove all codecs from your computer.
Get the latest Xvid-codec.
Install.
Enjoy...

You cant play xvid's with powerdvd afaik.

yea u can tumtum.. at least i have no problem doing so.. using PowerDVD 5.0

Yup, PowerDVD works with xvid releases. And thanks for the tip elitefrogger- I just needed the newest xvid codec and now they all work!!!

Yeah, I never check when everything works and keep forgetting to do so when something doesn´t .... Ironic, isn´t it?
