just bought a sapphire x800xt and installed ATI's latest driver

wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-071-041026a-018719c.exe

but it seems x800xt dont like to run WMV movies or MPG movies..

all AVI runs fine

what can i do to correct the problem?

i tried to uninstall all display drivers with a special uninstall program.
i tried to uninstall all codec ( SLD 1.5.3 and xvid codec)

still problem is resident ;D

SOunds like codecs problem to me... the video card shoulnt even has a word to say about video files..

find the k-lite codecs pack, it's pretty darn good
www.free-codecs.com something like that

Screw all damn codec pack. They just messes up the registry and other stuff. They also install unneeded and old codecs. Just install WMV codec or get Windows media player 10. That will be enough. I also recommend you to install the Omega drivers instead of the standard original ones.
