Yondaime wrote: | Well, a week ago I was itching to check out WoW after some of their changes but I didn't want to waste any money. Just some normal nostalgia I suppose. And today I wake up to see that my B.Net password was changed (saw the message in my mail). So I quickly try to login, to make sure it wasn't a scam mail (and of course I used the official b.net site without using any of the links in the mail) and found out that indeed, my password had really been changed...
So I change my password, proceed to login and then change my mail as well to a backup gmail account. And then I go into subscriptions and notice that the account hacker had blessed me with 60days from a gamecard. I install WoW, the expansions and all the patches, five hours later login and check my characters and all the gold and gear was still there. No idea what the fuck that hacker was going to do but I guess the password and mail changes I did one hour after he changed my password prevented him from doing anything. xD
I checked with all my friends as well to make sure none of them had borrowed my account (they're allowed to do it so no problem for them to answer truthfully) and they hadn't.
Awesome... I wish they'd done this to my Warhammer Online account as well since I'm itching to try their changes to. |
I was going to try the Warhammer 10 day free thing, but they make you put your damn credit card back in to get back in there, fuck that.

No, when I tried the Warhammer trial, a month or so ago, it didn't ask for no credit card? And now they changed it, they made it up to level 10 instead of 10 days, so even better.

I don't know much about WoW..but how could you change your password when someone had already changed it without your knowing ? Don't you need to instert the previous pw to set a new one ?

I guess they figured it's better that way, instead of having so many trial accounts opened (they used to keep the data if you decide to ever come back as a paying customer. Shame they only limiting to Chaos/Empire, but it's probably because people will just change characters when they are finished with the previous.
