Iv heard most beer in the US is pretty weak, at least those unknown cheap brands.
When thats said, NEVER go to a supermarket for beer in Sweden, their limit in supermarkets is 3,5%. Its 4,7% here, not much better but well it works.

yeah, must really suck. Our hard liquor place "polet" you can buy everything up till 22% when you are 18. Thought it was the same in Sweden, at least it is in Finland. So you can only buy 3,5% beer until you are 20 O.o. Thats pretty sad 
I find the prices at systembolaget in Sweden to be pretty expensive compared to the taxfree on the ferry to Strømstad anyway.
But the really annoying thing is probably the same in Sweden as in Norway, people that don't live in cities have to travel pretty far to get some strong stuff.

yeah, but you can buy everything at 16 in Denmark
And btw, they don't take it too seriously in Poland, at least not the place we tried to buy. We where 15-16 and bought vodka no problem

We have that "law" that kids under 18 can't buy alcohol (as if ), but there is no limit on the amount of alcohol That's just silly ^^

meh, maybe it's for the better. don't have much money to spend on alcohol right now anyway. but yeah the 20 years thing is true, unless I misunderstood something, someone from Sweden please correct me in that case.
