His shitty P4 dell that he had for 4 years finally called it quits so he asked if I could build a good budget system.
So I just ordered all the parts needed
Order Total $381.97

Btw, is it just me or did you forget the graphic card? |
lmao I keep getting asked that, nah, he's no gamer or anything so I got a board with onboard gfx which is good enough for what they do, the most that gets played is from his daughter that plays rollercoaster tycoon and the sims.
And ya, the ONLY good thing about living here is the hardware.

It's sufficient if you want crap results. Stock is only some small fan pushing air onto a shitty block of alunimum.
Zalmans flower design is great for pushing air across the board so it'll help cool down the northbridge/southbridge
I already stated above that theres no games being played so onboard is sufficient so buying a gpu would have been a waste of power money and space.
And the biggest, probably most obvious reason, the CPU I ordered is OEM

yeah really, and he'll call you complaining when the HD is full!
the first question you should always ask when buying/building a computer for a relative is how much of a pain in the ass their noobness is going to be in the future.
asus z170-A || core i5-6600K || geforce gtx 970 4gb || 16gb ddr4 ram || win10 || 1080p led samsung 27"

Don't forget as well that he'll likely have this one for 4 years as well |
nah, I build em to last, my 754 socket system I built for gaming back then is still running and thats....like...6-7 years old?
Socket A system would still be running but damn mum threw away the CPU and motherboarrd
my 939 is still running strong and even better after I OC'd it.
in the case he ever does need ot update anything for games or something it's got the ability to do AM3 as well as 2 pcie slots. so he's pretty well covered.
I've been working on there computers for quite some time so I know his noobness, I don't mind working on computers for relatives. He had a ocmputer once with 990 viruses.....that...was insane lol.
@mortibus
I know how those HD's work and I hate it. They price the one low, then 4 more odllars you can get a little more, 7 bucks you get more, lol theres no end to it. I had to do my best to keep the cost down as best as possible due to their budget, he's perfectly happy with what he's getting. I dunno how you all manage to get that sxs folder so large.
