I got a 500gb Drive and its only 2 months old. What happens is when I put anything on the drive it goes really slow and when I use it for anything else it freezes my computer. I tested it with 3 different hardware testers and it passes with flying colours, I changed the sata cable and tried a different power point but still the same
A bit more information would be useful, like model/brand, OS, Apps running. And what is "anything"?
You got a On-The-Fly Virus scanner running or something like this? Tried checking the Taskmanager for processes with continuous high cpu load? Turned off Indexing service or other services you do not need? Installed any TuneUp crap tools?
It's a fresh install of Windows 7 as I thought it may of been that but isnt. Nothing else is installed but I did have Indexing service on but disabled it and it's still the same.
My Specs:
E8400 @ 3.00Ghz
Asus 680i Sli (Updated Bios couple of weeks ago)
2gb DDR2 9200 @ 1150Mhz
Any red marked devices showing in your hardware control panel? Tried installing the latest nforce drivers for 7? Checked the event log for any problems? Put the drive in a different pc for testing?
Still haven't posted make/model of the hard drive either. Did you install any needed drivers that came w/ your motherboard? I had freezing problems until I installed one driver from my motherboard disc, something related to Intel.
