Lincoln University students now have one more hurdle to pass before they graduate: losing weight. According to a recently instituted requirement, university students with a body mass index (BMI) over 30 will have to take a physical education class in order to receive their diploma.
The program "Fitness for Life" began in 2006, but this is the first year the effects will be felt. This spring, the new requirement will keep over two dozen students -- all black -- from graduating.
Not really world news or surprising but it is strange that black students are the only ones who are so overweight as to be affected by the law. Another myth busted! Although that myth was based entirely on all the pics of fat white chicks posted on the net.
And although I think the university is going too far it won't be long before it gets sued based on something unconnected to the core issue and totally outlandish. Bless that 'freedom of speech' clause which can be modified to fit so many situations.
