My serial keyboard port does not work, so I am using a USB keyboard,
However, now the keyboard does not work when it says "Boot from CD: Press any Key". Keyboard is not recognized at all (no lights).

I already have Windows 7 installed (removing it for now) and once windows 7 comes up, keyboard works fine. Also, the keyboard works fine in BIOS mode. Bios mode I already just set CDROM to boot first, disabled everything else. However, it still wont work and boots into Windows7. I cant fix the serial port onn MOBO - seems MOBO issue. PC is old (AMD1800XP).

So, should I re-burn the XP CD and somehow make it automatically boot from CD without pressing key? If so, how?

Reminds me of the classic error fail when no keyboard plugged in on boot:

"Keyboard Error. Press F1 to continue."

How the fuck? Shit, gotta plug it back in to disable this error. Glad i tested reboot while onsite.
