Holy shit. About a year ago, when the first two Oddworld games hit Steam, Lorne Lanning mentioned that they hoped that, if they sold well enough, that they'd be able to go back and release Munch and Stranger on PC, as well.
Honestly, I didn't think that it would actually happen, as nice an idea as it was. Seemed like a pie-in-the-sky sort of thing.
Really great that it's actually happening. I already have Munch and Stranger on Xbox, but having them on PC, where, even if the graphics themselves are the same (before anyone brings it up: don't expect graphics updates over the Xbox originals; remember, these are catalog re-releases, not remakes, from a company that isn't even a game studio anymore), being able to crank the resolution should make them look really terrific. Stranger is still nigh-unparalleled in art direction and style.
Maybe it's too much to hope for, but the only significant additions I could hope for would be for the pre-rendered cinematics (some of the finest ever seen in a videogame, in the case of Stranger) to be remastered in HD, and for proper widescreen support. I won't knock them if these don't happen, as I'm already excited enough.

at least not officially.

"Exclusive" usually doesn't mean "exclusive 4EVAH". Hopefully it'll be a good port with cleaned up graphics.

Forza check
and list goes on, some games will never come to pc or will stay exclusive for particular console no matter what
Oddworld never really had any great value so it doesn't really matter

Oddworld games where amazing. I loved the very first Abe's Odyssey. Excellent game.

they are not "porting" the PS3 already can read PSX games,and this only
the first 2 games,but who knows,maybe they will port those games as well,but as long there is a PC version,who cares?

I think what he meant is that Oddworld isn't exactly a huge system-selling franchise, like Gran Turismo or Halo, for instance.

I'm talking about the Xbox only titles, I thought we all talking about these? I think I've read somewhere that they'll be available for purchase & download via PSN as well.

You misunderstood. It's just the two Abe games that are coming to PSN. It's not a terribly significant effort, seeing as re-releasing PS1 games on PS3 seems to be a pretty simple process.

Oh WOW. It looks great in high res. Looks like this'll be coming in early calendar year 2010. Still the "winter" release they promised, but I was hoping before New Year's. Oh well.

Stranger's Wrath will be released on PSN with HD res.
The game will ship in 720p and will come complete with normal mapping, self-shadowing, re-mastered dialogue, Move support and additional material, of which JAW’s saying nothing as yet.
“Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.”
No word for the promised PC release. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
edit It has Move support, which means Sony paid them (why would they bother otherwise?)
