Alright, so tonight I'm going over to a relative of mine to fix his computer. His problem is that his Windows is set to automatically update using Windows Update. Now, normally, that works perfectly fine, but this time it so happens that after it downloaded and installed the updates, it wanted to restart the computer as per usual, but when it restarted it just hangs on the third step of the updating which I assume would be "Applying" or some such? I haven't seen it yet, but I'd like to know as much as I can before I go there as he only has one comp... And I'm not sure I can boot fail safe with networking without the updating fuckign things up...
Is there anyway I can remove the updating using fail safe booting, so it stops trying to apply the updates when he starts his computer (he can't even get into Windows as it tries to apply the updates before that)?
Or is my only option a Windows restore? Should be said that he knows barely anything about computers so I have no idea if there is a restore point...
