How about it writes "you have 1 message" in blood red letters! It took me a month to realize I have a message, it doesn't stand out at all from the rest, kind of blends in and camouflages.

Pop up? When I have message it pops up, and it's kinda annoying to have yellow ribbon saying that a pop up has been blocked...

Yeah, you should see the popup or see Firefox's bar notifying you that it blocked something.

Or you don't use Firefox, in which case you're on your own out there, weirdo !!
