|
 |
I didn't know if this would count as console tech or not.
Anyway, I am sure some of you remember the dashboard on the Xbox and the way you could download and run a trainer with various options before running the game?
Well my question is, is the same thing possible on the WII? I have a modded WII for my sons birthday and I know he will ask about trainers. I don't mean type in cheats, but proper trainers pre-loaded before the game.
Thanks for any advice.

CheatHappens has a few Wii trainers though albeit it matches what you requested it's a subscription site and only a few games are supported at the moment.
http://twitter.com/cheathappens
(Gives a pretty good overview, they're pretty recent so any Wii trainer should be towards the top of the list.)
I guess it'll spread and increase over time.
(EDIT: Now that it's been proven possible to create this sort of thing is what I mean, just a bit slow in the beginning.)

Never heard of that but I will look into it, thanks.
To be honest I am reluctant to try homebrew/hack due to the fact I have read of the possibility of 'bricking' the console

Bricking is now pretty damn hard to do 'permanantly', as you can backup your Wii's internal NAND flash memory with http://www.BootMii.org.
It's very, very simple. Download to SD card, insert, press a few buttons on your Wii remote. Really that easy these days.
