Out for the PSP. Haven't played the PC version, but saw some videos, appears more or less exactly the same, just smaller.
Tied my first game, just a one off. My wood elves took out the humans ogre.
Yeah they broke his ribs.

I've noticed a bit of lag in this game. About 3 or 4 times a game a result will be rolled and nothing will happen for like 5-10 seconds. The game just sits there, then suddenly the animation happens. You can see the result listed on the screen (defender down) or something like that, but just nada. Nothing is moving. Only on the AIs turn.

This game is very hard even on easy. Rolls rarely seem to go my way. I've had some games where like the first action I take in every turn for 3 or 4 turns in a row results in a turnover. In addition I've had turns where they've KO'd like 4 or 5 guys and every other hit resulted in a stun. I'd hate to play this on hard. I've also had turns where they've had to make 7 or 8 dodge rolls and never miss them.

Are you playing it cso'ed ? Some games lag when compressed.

I haven't played it yet on my psp, but it sounds dangerous, I may lob the poor thing outta the window at some point.

Nope. Its ISO. Only 229 MB as an ISO, so no need for CSO.
The lag isn't persistent, only about 3 times a game or so. Just for no reason the game just sits there and waits.

I should say once or twice the rolls have gone my way, in one turn I knocked 3 of their players out of bounds, but the next turn was halftime so they got to put them all back on the field.

But I played the first tournament, I only won 1 game out of 4 or something. This game is extemely luck based. All the strategy in the world can't save you when you get nailed on a quick turnover, its basically a free touchdown for them. I played against the skavens and lost 3-0 because all 3 touchdowns were scored like in 2 turns each. A quick turnover let them run around me and throw a pass. Nothing I could do. These guys could dodge on a 2+ and never once missed a roll. The best game I had was against some orcs. It finished a 0-0 draw and I killed one of their players. But it started bad.

The opening kick off, fan throws a rock against me, casualty, I use the apothecary, still casualty. I go to grab the ball, failed to pick it up, turn over, they start steamrolling me.

yeah I've almost wanted to toss it a few times.

I used to play Warhammer 40k tabletop and I can't say that I was ever that frustrated playing it. Is the PC version that bad?

I was reading that because the dice rolls are computerised we are less likely to take them at face value - but I heard similar complaints with the PC version.

This can be true, but there are bad random number generators out there. I remember years ago with Temple of Elemental Evil the devs actually replaced the random number generator because too many people complained. The one they had chosen was really prone to clumping. Over thousands of rolls it all evened out, but it was really streaky.
I've played 4 or 5 games now..and so far I can easily say that I get hammered way more than they do. The stats are there to be viewed. I always try to double-team etc, but it doesn't matter. It seems that they have no problem breaking up a group of players and then hammering the guys left standing without a friend, where as I'm pretty much always hammered whenever I try to poke out the middle guy.

It might be true, but I disagree about computer players having weighted rolls.
I'm doing the tournament on hardest, and i've managed 3 wins 1 loss, the AI is quite brutal and it won't throw you any bones.. but personally I don't sense any cheating here.

That said, one of my $60,000 lizards died on the first half of my first game by falling over himself. Was about to reset right there.. if the other team wasnt suffering triple my losses at the time.
On the bright side, I've broken a few necks and ribs so far, but my team doesn't have a single injury or negative traits itself.. yet.

Although highly luck based, without strategy you won't beat the computer- you'll probably beat your psp into pulp before the match is over however.

tips:
take dangerous actions last, suffering early turn-overs will make you biff the psp.
don't try to pick up the ball when its surrounded by enemies
make sure you're doing the right actions with the right characters (on the lizard team you've basically two types of characters, one capable of running/grabbing ball/dodging, and one for beating the shit out of anything else.. neither of these guys can pass/throw/kick for beans)
save your rerolls for when you're about to suffer early turn-over, or you're making important moves like passing (guaranteed failure for my lizard team without reroll/sure hands)

Be prepared to eat up some fucking crappy dice rolls, welcome to bloodbowl imo. awaiting pc version but i'm quite happy with the psp offering, so far.
