ok ill do a more contructive reply
its very simple, any fps on a console sux period, mouse keyboard combo owns,
and the pc version has the comodity of beenig able to patch and to mod,
if i were you i would most defnetly buy the pc version, no doubt about it.

Three versions, Its also releasing for the PS2. Each version will not be able to play the others so you have to pick the system based on who you wish to play with. If most of your friends own an Xbox, I would guess that would be the most logical choice.
I will be buying the PC version mainly because since they are all identical the PC one has more pro's with more player's supported, downloadable and customizable content and just better graphics.

All of my friends have XBox and PCs... and love the gameplay of Battlefield...
Sure i'll be able to play on XBox Live...
I don't mind gameplay with a joypad...
Sure the game can be patched with XBL ...
And won't the game will be XBox optimized? Or it will be a port? (XBox to PC or PC to XBox?) ... I guess it won't be a port...
I guess each platform has Pros and cons ...

I also own both, but I will be going for the PC version. Although I do not mind the joysticks (hey I'm a Halo fan) the mouse and keyboard is infinitely better.
The good thing about consoles is that you know it will run pretty good and should have minimal problems with glitches and crashes and stuff. But the PC has the opportunity for custom content and make it look sweeter.
So for the PC I go.

On the topic of the game, IGN has a neat little write up so far on a battle.
Here is a piece I found pretty neat:
Quote: | Though the game boasts 30 vehicles, there are only two to play with during the Battle of Endor. The mouse-steered speeder bike is a blast to ride but it's incredibly fragile. Trying to negotiate the crowded forests here is a game in itself and you shouldn't be surprised to see at least a few of these crash right into the trees during a match. You can gain a bit more maneuverability out of them by holding down the strafe key while turning with the mouse. The speeder bike comes equipped with a pair of laser cannons at the front but the real offensive joy of this vehicle is in running people over.
The other vehicle is the large AT-ST, the chicken of doom as the Alliance calls it. This two-seater vehicle offers driver-fired laser cannons and passenger-fired rockets. It's all but impossible to take it out without the help of the game's heavier weapons but, thankfully, the pilots have to get out of the vehicle in order to actually capture a spawn point. |

PC without any doubt... Some games are good on consoles, but fps titles definitely belong only on PC... Sure, you can play fps games on consoles, but difficulty of control and auto aim simply ruins the experience…

FPS games are definately more playable on PCs but that doesnt mean they're not meant for consoles. Look at games like perfect dark and goldeneye.
Anyhoo, back to which you should buy - it really depends. If your pc is not "up to date" you may not wanna run the game at some low rezo/texture detail setting. In that case, you'll probably want it on the xbox which will (probablY) have the game running at nice quality with good speeds. However, if you have one of those upper end comps, it looks like this game will rock on PC \m/ If it were my decision, I'd weigh it on those factors.
Peace,
fear the led zeppelin that was!

yeah well, your right, perfect dark, goldenneye, turok all these were really great, but that only cuz of the awesome controler of the N64, i think that was the best console controler ever designed, but to play a fps in that cumbersome xbox controler is quite anoying.
and you made another good point, in fact, if ones computer is not that good, then one should stick with the xbox.

Some of us don't have big beastly computers that run thousands of frames per second and have an xbox that actually looks better than their little GEforce card.
But if my computer had more balls...I'd pick PC. But I'll probably get the xbox version so I can play with my finds via link connection assuming it supports that.
BRING FORTH THY NUKEAGE!!!!!!!
