Wow, another cop on another power-trip. He could easily hold her in place with one hand and she would be unable to do anything, but he has to push her, and then taze her. But I suppose she really posed a lot of threat to someone three times her size.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

Even if you don't feel you're guilty you don't resist. Unless of course you have some sort of plan for how your resistance will allow you to escape capture indefinitely. Thats extremely rare though, and only really has a point if your sentence is severe.

Man I hate to defend this guy but... here I go anyways.
That lady looks 200 years old, if the guy was going to get physical, he probably would have broken her in half, and then the cop would be facing a ton of physical abuse bullshit from that lady, I mean she was already being a bitch.
Did he NEED the tazer? Of course not, obviously he can overpower her. But I think he was figuring he'd take the most non-violent route. I know what you're thinking. Tazering a 200 year old lady seems pretty violent. But in a physical scuffle, who knows what she would have broken. You're just saying that all he needs to do is grab her arm, but she might collapse, or twist, and make some other movement that would probably injure her.
Plus, "I dare you to [taze me]", come on, you definitely don't say that. ;p

You're mixing up a couple of things. I am not questioning the relation between cop-related incidents where an innocent person gets shot and the arming of police officers. And whether arming a police force acts as a deterrent for criminal activity is an entirely different matter. All I am saying is that criminals do not base their decisions about whether they should carry a weapon based on whether the police are armed or not. They do so based on their branch/position in the criminal profession.

You believe what you want, I'll do the same. But I think that both factors you mention here, among others, determine whether a criminal feels the need to be armed.
