Traveling by air for the first time next Friday. Going to New York (for those of you who doesn't use the custom titles )

Anyway, was wondering about these exceptions when it comes to liquids. You can have a 1 liter plastic bag (if it has open/close mechanism) for your toilet/hygienic stuff. Sooo... what would happen if you put lets say soda/water in one of the tubes? Cool Face

...damn this has to be a bad idea But I refuse to pay for overpriced soda/water on ze plane!

I really doubt anyone have tried this. But sounds like they just look at the bag, and let people pass trough. Its ofc not worth it if the security guys go "omg, it could be some kind of explosive/acid liquid.

Don't carry liquids on, period. Oh, and hope they don't put you in the whiteroom. It gets boring there after the first hour Razz

You should take two different transparent liquid recipients, join them together in a way that it appears they can come in contact with each other, purchase two distinct colorful drinks, let's say, one red and one orange, insert them inside the correspondent recipient, put a cheap cellphone attached to the recipients, glue some wires coming out of the phone into the recipient boxes, hide it within one of your bags.

Enjoy the water boarding session while dumb airport officials figure out that it was actually a fake device Very Happy Laughing

Actually, the bag for liquids is 75ml (yes, that's right- 75ml, not 750ml and not 1l) anything over and you're not allowed to take it through security check-in. They make you bin it at the gate. If you put it in your checked (read: non carry-on) luggage, then there's no limit to the amount of liquids you can carry.

I know this because I fly constantly to/from the UK (my wife also flies on national flights within the country and the same sanctions apply to her too) and if anything is over 75ml, you're not allowed to carry it on the plane. I've lost countless items this way, everything from cans of Redbull (250ml? sorry, you have to leave that here sir) to shaving cream that was in my zippable toiletries luggage (750ml? Sorry, you have to leave that here sir)

Fucking disgusting it is Sad

That's what I was thinking... Laughing If he tries something smart with the liquids, I wouldn't be surprised if they do a full body strip search to make sure he is not wearing any concealed weapons in private places. Cool Face

lol, I posted mostly to see your reactions. And I know there is a shop just after the checkpoint, but its sooo overpriced, and it kinda goes against my cheap principles . But fuck it, I can bring food, as long as it doesn't contain anything liquid Laughing (My free parking trick still works like a charm tho Very Happy )

So bottom line: ill STFU, shave my beard and behave exemplary Laughing

@Leo it wouldn't have been a problem in NYC, because id drink it on my way there
But yeah, bad idea anyway.
