i would recommend dvddecrypter, i use it quite a time now, and it's easy using

Depends what you want to do with the result.

For AVI conversion, SmartRipper is your best starting point

For DVD9-to-DVD5 use DVD Shrink

For DVD5-to-DVD5 use DVD Decrypter

otherwise check out doom9.org - best all-around ripping site I know of.

get yourself a lil prog called anydvd it runs in the background and will bypass any copyright on any dvd (hence the name Razz)

F1T is right use anydvd in the background, and use clonedvd to copy it..

If you want the movie to be on your hard drive DECRYPTER is the way to go.

After that it depends on what you wanna do with it.
