Hey, I am trying to play BFME and it won't start. The install goes fine but when I try to run the game it hangs at the start up screen and 50% of CPU is taken up. I have tried compatibility mode and that didn't work. I have used the 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03 cracks too and it failed. I am using Windows 7 beta 7000, not RC1 which I will probably install now that this game doesn't work. Anyone else have any problems with BFME in Windows 7? TIA! I solved this problem yesterday. Turns out if you just execute the setup.exe the install works but it doesn't install the option.ini and other files into the my battle for middle earth files directory. You can either find the files online and copy them into the folder yourself and the game will then work. Or you can uninstall and then install again by right clicking on the setup.exe and clicking on Run As Admin for the install to work properly. This is strange since I am obviously an admin on the domain admin side too. Maybe a security thing that Windows 7 7000 is doing wrong? I haven't tried this install on RC yet. It's the standard UAC shit, amirite ? Doesn't matter if your account is admin.
