Tap, the water quality is good around here.
I do drink carbonated water occasionally and those are bottled.

Not everyone has access to decent water though. So maybe think broader before it gets into another 'idiots' rant.

As Morphy said, safe and clean tap water isn't a universal thing.

I've been relying on an old well with a ghetto purifier for most of my water-y needs, but that obviously is about as drinkable as Fallout's irradiated water so the bottled one has been my only option.
Already started the procedure that will allow me to link the official municipal one to the house *soon* though, so things will likely change. It has a far better quality than what I'm currently using and should be drinkable on paper, but then again with Italy and its infrastructures from the 70s one never really knows. It'll probably be safer to just keep drinking bottled water.

Tap.
We have a SodaStream for carbonised water.
But for a couple of weeks now I've been making my own iced tea, so boiled tap water, Lipton (black) tea and lemon juice with artificial sweetener (diabetes).
I'm becoming a master of brewing that shit lol.

I think that is why the title says (Europe). We all know how shitty tap water in the US is, lol.

Tap water. It's very good here in NL, I live in an area with the best available. I always need time to adjust to drinking from bottles when I go to vacation.

Even if our tap water is potable, we still filter it via Brita.

the tap water in germany may be good to drink, but that doesn't mean that i also want to drink it.
im living in an old house, who the fuck knows if there are any lead pipes. i replaced my bathroom faucet two times. one time after moving in and a second time after a few years, both times everything in the pipe was full of dirt. not only the the little filter, but dirt all around the pipe itself. also the water here is very very hard.
of course it's cheaper then bottled water, even the cheapest bottle water (which i drink) but it still costs money and i don't want my yearly billing to go up in anyway. i waste enough water already.

So you don't want to pay more for water, even though you know it's cheaper than the cheapest bottled water (fyi by around a factor of 500)... yeah skip that part Apart from that I get your concerns with old pipes. Can't you ask your landlord? Generally speaking, our tap water quality standards are much tighter than those for bottled water. We stopped buying bottled water and have a soda maker when waifu wants sparklung water. I dislike the sour taste of home made sparkling water :/
Regarding Britta users: Please do not forget that these water filters LOOOOOOVE to cultivate bacteria :/

my landlord sadly doesn't know shit about anything.
if i would pay the rent (+water/heater costs) on my own, then that wouldn't be a problem, but that is not the case. im already on the limit which gets payed for me, since i use way too much water already and i don't want any problems at the end of the year and suddenly have to pay for everything which is over the limit. so i rather pay 17 cent more for water, knowing that it's cleaner then what is coming out of my tap and also it's sparkling. i would have to pay extra for a sodastream and replacement cylinders then too.
if you don't want it sparkling or got a sodastream and clean pipes then of course go for it, but for me it's way easier like that. im still disgusted by what i have seen after looking into the pipes here, i would need a filter too then.

Ha, look at these third-worlders needing filters for their water. Their glorious leader can't even provide clean water. Sad.
