For some reason I cannot fathom, icons that are on my desktop show some annoying generic icon which appears to be ON TOP of the actual icon for that shortcut.

I've included pics to show exactly what I am talking about.

This has been going on for a few weeks now and it's starting to really bother me.

Any ideas?

BTW: Windows Vista x64 SP2

Fixed thanks to VGAdeadcafe and my genius

I tried the icon rebuilds and they didn't work.
Then an idea struck me in regards to the fact that it was an icon covering the actual icon.

I zoomed the icons to Large display and then the problem was apparent, for some reason the arrow overlay for my shortcut icons had been replaced by that damn default icon.

So I used Tuneup to switch it back to default and restarted and i'm gold!

Woot! woot!
