Patch at Blizzard : 1.13d

I think this is the game I played the most (along with UT).

The game that pushed the genre to mainstream. Every H&S RPG is compared to Diablo 2 (and IMO none has surpassed it yet).

Excellent movies and music. Really enhance the storytelling and atmosphere.

Also, a new content patch is under development.

EDIT :

Two utilities to make your D2 experience more enjoyable on today's monitors. Smile

Bullshit, it was Diablo 1. Funny, I don't see that listed in this section. It's as good or even better in some respects than the sequel, especially in terms of atmosphere.

Is it true that Diablo 2 is just essentially better version of Diablo 1? This guy at school told me today that its just upgraded version, there are two more classes but everything else its same thing

To be perfectly honest, I don't like D2. Or rather, I didn't like it. I've not gone back to it in years, as it just didn't feel the same as D1 - which I love like a son.

I guess I just have a different opinion, because for me D2 improved on D1 in many ways than it just being an upgrade over the original.

Yeah, the gold system was really annoying in D1, having to keep them in a weird way (was it max. 100 coins per slot?)

Naw it was more, since the gold stack graphic changed as you got more... Still, it was very annoying.

And I honestly can't decide which game I like more - Diablo 1 holds the distinction of being one of the very first games I bought after I got a decent PC way back then, and like Parallax mentioned the atmosphere was something else (the first time I opened the door to The Butcher's room - "AAARHH, FRESH MEAT!" Crying or Very sad) ... But D2 on the other hand did everything else better - there was more variety and options to every single aspect of gameplay and overall it was much more replayable.

Ladder reset in 30 minutes (with an estimated downtime of 6 hours) and a possible patch coming with it (minor bug fixes, but still).

Time to get back to the mother (and father) of all hack n slash and MURDER SOME DEMONS !

Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation.

We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.

So if you like wearing many hats, know small teams are the most effective, and look forward to challenges that will create millions of new adventures for our players: we would love to hear from you.

(But I wouldn't read too much into it yet, it might just be compatibility fixes for newer OS's, not full "HD remakes" as people seem to think it will be.)
