What I hate most about traveling is bad water quality. Norwegians are really spoiled when it comes to drinking water.

Can only talk for the countries iv been in. Sweden has overall good tap water, no need for bottled water. Filled up on a gas station towards Malmø tho, and the taste wasn't that great. But much better longer north. Guess its closer to the mountains.

In Denmark it got a jucky after taste. Actually didn't make the same mistake next year and brought Norwegian drinking water to Roskilde. And iv been all around Denmark, its the same everywhere -.-

Poland... omg. There is a reason there are 20 different bottled water brands. But I can see why tho, where are the great water resources? Same in German.. meh.

Googled "worlds best drinking water" and found this
http://www.isbre.com/

Looks like some US mofos earn a lot from selling Norwegian water. Possibly from glacier as they claim, but still. 20$ for fucking water, lol. And thats without shipping.

Would be fun to buy a TDS Water Tester tho

German tap water ain't bad although it differs quite a bit depending on where you are.
We here in the west (relatively close to the Netherland border) have quite good tap water - not juts quality wise but taste wise.
The water in Berlin for example, I don't like either, just doesn't taste good.

Oh, and btw. bottled water is the biggest scam in existence - watched an episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! on that a couple days ago Laughing

Yeah, I just tried it in Berlin, and some strange village I don't remember the name of.

But I think we where warned not to drink tap water in Poland. At least not in Gdansk if I remember right.

Here we only drink bottled water. Tap is just an abomination. Sad Also bla, but at least it's better than tap.

I guess best would be having the water run through these filters, but the better ones are pretty expensive.

Well taste != quality Wink
Even if you tried water in Berlin and it tasted like a rat's ass, nevertheless the water quality is good all around Germany.
But yeah, if you're already told to not drink the tap water there might be something to it Very Happy

even better here in vienna, tap water comes straight down from the mountains. you don't have those over there, do you? Very Happy

i never liked bottled water (except when i'm in a 3rd world country, for obvious reasons), feels kinda...unnatural.

No we don't except when I go to south Germany I might be able to find something similar there

@Syco:
What do you mean? "when Africa and the Middle East runs outta water"? You're trying to tell me they have water there? I thought they'd all be sucking cactusses, cacti... whatever screw that shit... Laughing

I mean in the next 20 or 30 years when Africa and the Mid East runs out or has minimal fresh water...who do you think they are going to go after first? Go to Europe or cross the ocean and try and steal it from Canada and the US....

And everyone knows WW3 is gunna be over resources. Most likely oil and fresh water.

yeah, that's certainly one thing i'm afraid of. not war, but heineken selling out. (shitload of mountain springs here in austria are owned by the beer companies. beer companies = brewery union. who owns the brewery union? fucking heineken!)

lol fuck the water.....can't run out of beer eh? lol U sure your not Canadian? Cause if you moved here, you'd fit right in lol Smile

Canadians love our beer. Thats for sure. Its a part of our culture. Backbone if you will.
And Canadian beer is definitely in the top 5 best in the world (aside from Molson Canadian...thats piss in a bottle).

American beer.....my god. Horrible. I've been to the US more times than I can remember and maybe have had only 12 beers (each of a different kind).
Ur better off drinking liquor than beer in the US.
US beer is so weak.
3%....might as well drink non alcoholic beer.

beer is a bit more than a backbone here, we've got about 150 breweries - and thanks to a little project on my last job, i've been to every single one of em Very Happy

and yes, fuck US beer. i don't really care about the alcohol %, but it's just like piss. and very tasteless piss at that. beer needs to be made with love and some sense for detail - i want to taste the crop and its environment, not the factory it came out of.

You would like Moosehead. A full bodied, crisp beer. Only drink it cold if you can buy it in your country.
Warm, its horrible.

All beer is horrible if its warm tho.

I dunno if your from England but can you get chilled/cold beer in England? Cause when I go to England, I'll be damned if I am going to drink warm beer.

And you don't need to buy the water. Here in Cro we have really quality tap water, so I don't use it, but my friend does and the water tastes, I don't know, cleaner Smile
Don't know, maybe it's placebo effect...

Africa? Laughing

Oh no mighty Africa, spare us from flinging your awesome mudballs and spears at us!

And if Arabs tried anything for real (not just isolated terrorist attacks, but full-scale military attack) they'd just get raped by Nato.

Tap water tastes ok here in the UK. I was in Philadelphia a few years ago and the water tasted horrible. Its no wonder why they buy bottled drinks that aren't a squash/cordial.

i never drink tap water. its more of a psychological thing. im sure taps in your building are plastic, but down the road underground its going to be iron, so the water also tastes like that a little. i dont have time to fuck with things like external filters.

im sure bottle water is taken from the tap, but its being filtered through many filters, also.

Read some place that the reason why a lot of brits have ugly teeth are because of the lack of it in the tap water.

The Tap water in the Lower Mainland here tastes fine. If you go farther east, Okanogan the water is hard and tastes like crap. I wouldn't drink the tap water from up the valley because the water table is contaninated by cow pee. They are always having boil water warnings.

I love my bottled water. I am a water snob.

I don't get all the hate for bottled water. Really, why do you care? If your region has good water and you like drinking tap water, good for you. Those of us that drink bottled water drink it for a reason. It does taste better and is cleaner (as opposed to what Penn and Teller would like us to believe), so I really don't see the problem.

Ur used to it, but I wouldn't like to relay on bottles of water sold at supermarkets, what if the importers went on a strike Laughing

Nah srsly, im sure its just fine when there are no other options.
