Fucking mechs are too overpowered and fast, compared to the first one lol. Was expecting an easy run-shoot the first time a mech is seen in the original game, instead got my heart pumping from trying to escape the bitch from shooting my last life box completely. The mission where two mechs are hunting you, and you have to shoot some powerful weapon (in Dark Athena), silly me, I tried to kill the fucking things 1000 times, until I realized that wasn't the point (were they invincible anyway?). But yeah, like the Dark Athena campaign more, but damn, that New Venice portion was boring as hell.

Emm, not really, after seeing FFT generated water from Crysis. The water is actually pretty blocky (due to low resolution water shader precision).

@iNatan
you mean you hated those logical jumping similar to mirrors ege
but yeah they made this game too similar to the first part :
Butcher bay
3 levels
2 hubs
Dark Athena
3 levels
1 hub
but all in all game is fine you need 9h to finish part 1 and 7h to finish part 2, would have been less if they added dynamic map hints like flashing lights or SOMETHING to show you where to go
oh and loved the big daddy ending... it made me warm and fuzzy when she jumped on the alpha mech and played GPS for few moments

No, hated the city "OK find old man, go get special gun, go get on the ship". It seemed too pointless ("filler"). But it's cool, no major issues with it. Actually, the part where you have to jump on platforms and hide from the lights was great, loved it. Riddick is a much better Chinese delivery girl from the future. Music is cooler as well.

Multiplayer probably works just fine but as you say there are probably not many people playing which means there's not many servers up.
EDIT: As for the game I haven't played much as I've been busy with other things but I'm a bit into Dark Athena (Gravity generator) and have replayed trough Butcher Bay's intro sequence. (Before you're tossed into the pit.) so there's still a bit to do before I complete both games, plus those special unlocks if you complete specific challenges. (Sneak trough cargo area in Dark Athena for example.)

the mech in fear 2 was more fun but, at first i found the alpha drones hard to deal with but then once you work out the weakness of them they can be dealt with in under 30 seconds.

Multilayer is pretty bad to begin with and if PC version has console like lobby system that would explain why no one wants to play it.

From what I remember, it was the same in the first one as well, but the amount of weapons was very limited when compared to the Dark Athena ones. Also, most of the time, Riddick wasn't allowed to shoot the assault rifle, and shotgun ammo was very sparse at places. But as for melee weapons, it is the same here. Clubs swap when you pick up others, same with knives. Riddick's signature twin blades are there for the reason of lore, while the hairpin is used for a special boss fight (not sure you can even defeat her without the pin).

Loving the gameplay so far, it´s challenging and incredibly fun. Just hope the dark athena part keep almost the same level, despite of the bad reviews... |

yes you can , with the Peacemaker ... the hair pin to the throat animation is scripted he will auto-change to it and stab her "return to sender"

Ahahah nice. Well, I found the hairpin easiest to kill her with anyway. She was a tough bitch as well.

The game is worth the money though (full price rental aside), so buy it, by the time you run out of activations, you may have a crack to use.
As for the Dark Athena side of the game, I really enjoyed it, especially some of the cut scenes, my only problem was some of it was a bit well lit, which limits your options for stealth.

Anybody Fancy arranging a time to get a decent multiplayer match going?
I really want to see what it's all about and pitch black game mode looks fun and a bit like that splinter cell game mode but the MP seems dead so far sadly.
@Newty,I think you have a fair bit to go yet mate if you meant to say Dark athena and not BB.

Well the gameplay is good. I've seen vids of it. I guess it's like Escape from butcher bay.
