Genre: FPS RPG (sorta) / Dungeon Crawler

Developer: Interplay
Publisher: Interplay

Release Date: 1995
Story as according to Wikipedia wrote:
Stonekeep is centered on a hero, Drake. During the Devastation of the world by the evil god Khull-Khuum, Drake the boy was saved from his castle by a mysterious figure. Years later, Drake returns to the ruins of Stonekeep and the goddess Thera sends his spirit out of his body into the ruins itself to explore, reclaim the land, and defeat Khull-Khuum.

Along the way, Drake makes many friends, including Farli, Karzak, and Dombur the dwarves; the great dragon Vermatrix; the elf Enigma; a temple of Sharga; the mysterious Wahooka; and even a troupe of faerie players.

The game was amazing back in it's day, mostly because of it's live action cinematics with really really bad acting but they were fun.
The gameplay wasn't that exciting. Standard run of the mill dungeon crawler.

Fun fact:
Black Isle Studio were developing a sequel which was canceled in 2001 - pretty sad, I suppose that could have gotten pretty awesome.

Anyway. Apparently it's not a game that you come back to every couple of weeks but once every couple of months (but at least once a year) I come back to play this little gem Wink

I have the book that came with the game sitting next to me on my desk.
I remember struggling to make a boot disk in MS-DOS to be able to launch this fucker - not an easy task at the age of 11. Ah the memories Very Happy

Fun fact thanks to wiki -
Quote:
The movie at the beginning is the most expensive part of the production, costing nearly half a million dollars to produce. It is interesting to note this amount is 10 times more than the initial budget for the entire project.

And here's the famous half million dollar intro -
