Plot
The manga follows three American soldiers in the Vietnam War named Bota, Perky and Rats. All three are in the recon group called Cat Shit One. Each mission (or chapter) shows the daily activities of the reconnaissance group in Vietnam. There are sections of the manga which give brief history and truths behind the war, such as the types of weapons used by different countries and the activities of forces in the war. At the end of volume one there is a chapter called Dog Shit One — separate from the main story — showing human characters.

Main characters
Sergent Perkins (aka Packy) - An American soldier and leader of the Cat Shit One recon group.
Sergent White (aka Rats) - American soldier who translates between Americans and Vietnamese.
Botaski (aka Bota) - American soldier. In the story his character shows a strong dislike of Asian people.
Chico - A Montagnard (or "Yard") trained by the Americans. His character is featured frequently in the story, especially near the end of volume three.

they don't try to make a point, there aren't any jokes, there's nothing interesting here. the idea might be alright, but they don't seem to be doing anything with it, judging from the trailer.
why would i care about this? for the gfx?

i don't understand it either - i mean, come on, ppl replaced with animals = lulz. of course there are exceptions like watership down or animal farm, but those are classics and have a completely different concept than all the pixar/dreamworks/etc CG action stuff.
CG and action look good and i'll watch it anyway (being a CG whore), but a series just based on mixing cute animals with war?
it's japanese, so neither initially
fansubs probably appear within the first week of japanese release and a dub once it's released in the states
guessing ofcourse, but i think it's a fairly safe bet
