Hey guys!

Need some help for i7 motherboards. Looking for something not too crazy, something to be able to overclock the CPU. Also what cooling solutions are available for the i7? The Tuniq Tower served me fantastically for the last 3 years with my C2D, so looking for something similar for the i7.

Also, what DDR3 memory would you recommend? Looking for either 6GB (3x2GB) or 8GB (2x4GB).

Thanks in advance.

Well for one mate, ditch the 8GB (2x4GB) idea. The new i7 platform works on triple-channel so you'll be kicking yourself in the ass with a 2-stick setup. Aim for 6GB (3x2) or 12GB (3x4) .. and anything by G.Skill will be golden!

Just like the 45nm C2Ds, mate, they clock like bastards! I'm due for another hardware refresh in about 6months or so .. and an i7/6GB combo is what I'm going for too ^_^

Go for a TRUE 120 for the heatsink. There is none better. I got the black one, with a push+pull setup. 35c idle, 50c full load.

Well, if you don't want anything too pricey but that allows a decent overclock, I would go with one of these two:

Heard some good things about these them.

Thanks guys!

Will check some reviews on these boards tomorrow. Not going to buy the new parts till April, so more are welcome. Smile

U69, by True 120 you mean the one by Thermalright, yes? I was looking into this:
